Life Lessons

Here are three questions that just might make you think! Some of you may know the answer right off the top of your head, others of you, well, may never have really thought of these things. Here you go:
1. Do you know who you are?
2. Do you Love yourself?
3. Do you know what makes you tick?
When asked who you are, I’m not talking about any profession, career, or job that you hold; that is what you do. Who I am for me, is that I am a Devine Piece of God, and I know this deep inside; this also came about through all the internal work I’ve done.
Self love, deep self love is a concept many people have never thought about; I find this to be interesting. My self love had dwindled for a moment in time but it’s currently coming back, and it’s coming back with a vengeance.
What makes you tick, what are your passions in life? Unfortunately, or fortunately, I have many, many passions in life, notably writing is one of them. One of these days my plan is to pull all my passions together and make a living. Though until then, finishing my thesis is priority. And just to let everyone know, referring back to May 2008’s newsletter, progress on the thesis is wonderful! Once again, I Thank each and everyone of you for all your help, prayers, and support!

Get Fit – Fit Tip

Just recently I ran across yet another research article professing that no matter what type of diet one tries, ultimately when it comes to shedding those unwanted pounds, the age old adage of ‘calories in and calories out’ is the way to go. As most people know, eating to few calories is not healthy. Which goes to say that eating to many calories is also unhealthy, thus is indicative of America’s overweight and obesity problem.
There is actually a formula for figuring out how many calories one needs to consume on a daily basis. It’s called the Harris-Benedict formula, which then, when calculated, can further determine one’s Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) which, simply put, is the amount of energy (calories) needed for basic survival; heart pumping, lungs for air, brain for thinking.
