Retro Blog Reel - Pt I

I thought it would be fun to take a look back at some of the earlier blogs, especially as we are experiencing a time of reflection and moving forward in rebirth. Some offerings for reflection.

Retrospective look back at the early days of my blog.  April 2010

April 2010 - This is where I am today.
At the end of this week we (my hubby and I) will be heading to New Mexico one last time (at least one last time as a resident there) to close on our old home and get the rest of our stuff, a few things we left to stage the home. wow, this is closure. I feel I have already done this, energetically I surely have, but we do have to make this one last trip and I am feeling those final ripples of saying good-bye to an incredible chap… Continue

My hubby's FB/email account was hacked, and we are having construction retainer-wall repairs due to drainage issues, and there is never a dull moment. But am listening to Don Henley and am gonna get this house clean and sparkling today... "all she wants to do is dance, dance, dance.." (don henley) Never a dull moment. whiles listening I was remembering I met Don Henley at a Walk for Walden Woods event back in the 90s. :) Continue

"When was the last time you let go of the notion that you're in control of your life and prayed? Even if you only have the slightest sense that a higher power is at work in the world, that little leap of faith just might give you the perspective you've been searching for." - Elizabeth Lesser

Yesterday I was contemplating taking that leap of faith. I didn't realzie then that what I meant, and surely, what my inner guide was prompting, was taking a leap into Faith.

Today I came across this quote which was follwed by the following article on prayer. This is something I am paying attention to today.

The first part of the article focused on some background about the author. But what I saw hidden there was a brief message on seeing the gifts in our early-life (and sometimes continuing- life) circumstances. Hidden in a rather lengthy narrative...  Continue

"The Cove" is an incredible documentary film about the inhumane slaughter and sale of wild dolphins in a "secret" (no longer) cove in Japan. And it just won the Academy Award. I am so excited! The film features dolphin crusader Ric O'Barry whom I met in Key West FL back in '95. Ric was the original trainer of Flipper the TV-show dolphin(s), (there were subsequently many of them), and Ric's life - and mission - changed when Kathy, (a.k.a. "Flipper") the dolphin, died in his arms while in the depression of captivity. Rick knew right then that what he and the TV industry was doing was wrong. (There is no "safe" or moral use of live animals in either the TV or film industries, the reality is often shocking).

Ric's mission from that moment on became freeing dolphins worldwide from the devastation of captivity, as well as from harm from slaughterers, all entertainment industry use/abuse, tuna net fishing, and and other cruelty and abandonments.,

Yesterday my hubby and I were eating veggie burgers (well, I was, he had a regular - but with some healthy and very yummy toppings, cranberries, brie and carrot slivers with dijon-mayo. Mine, a homemade veggie delite of rice, beans and whatever else (delicious) made into a fab-burger, and stacked with julliened roast red peppers (tons), sprouts, onions (I love being married, you can eat onions anytime) and balsamic dressing, with a side of sweet potato fries and some crazy good roast-veggie-alioli. Dolphins & Spiritual Joy

Spiritual joy is a subtle excitement.

Compared to the excitements of the day-to-day, outer world, some people would liken spiritual joy to an inner peace.

According to physics, there are two types of excitement. One type increases activity, such as increasing the volume of a sound. The other type - the one we are referring to here - raises the frequency.
