Well we are having a super snow storm in Colorado. 26" and we are close to the plains. (actually, it's fading now). but for October, unusual, but you are right on... let the winter begin, hey-de-ho!

Where I live in the U.S..... (very close to Lake Tahoe) .... we can get snow anytime of the year. Not that is it cold, it is simply weather systems can create "fluke" snow in May or June.
I do think we are in for a bad winter as the last few have been very mild.
This is a beautiful picture. I love the snow and just looking at this scene makes me want to reach for my ugg boots. Here in the U.K the snow and frost descends around about December through to March so we're making the best of these Autumn days. I know you call Autumn 'Fall' in the U.S which is lovely as it reminds us of the leaves falling from the trees'.
