*Zen Tea Meditation*

Meditation is all about being aware and conscious in our actions. Any action performed with awareness becomes meditative. Drinking tea can be an altogether different experience if we drink it consciously and with awareness. When we drink tea with awareness then it becomes a meditative experience and is as good as a meditation.

Zen people often have elaborate tea ceremonies where they drink tea with lot of reverence and awareness. In these… Continue

*The Magic of Candles*

Using candles is a simple and inexpensive way to alter the ambiance of your meditation room/area. Replacing artificial lighting with candlelight will lower the intensity of energies that are not consistent with being intune with our spirits. Calming candlelight helps us go within and reflect more deeply on our lives.

The mysticism of lighting a candle can be evidenced by the feeling of peace that ensues. Gaze into that candle while… Continue

*Walking On Water*

Three monks decided to practise meditation together. They sat by the side of a lake and closed their eyes in concentration. Then suddenly, the first one stood up and said, "I forgot my mat." He stepped miraculously onto the water in front of him and walked across the lake to their hut on the other side.

When he returned, the second monk stood up and said, "I forgot to put my other robe out to dry." He too walked calmly across the water and… Continue

*Scientists find strange species in ocean depths*

This undated photo released by Census of Marine Life and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution shows a transparent sea cucumber, Enypniastes, creeping forward on its many tentacles at about 2 cm per minute while sweeping detritus-rich sediment into its mouth at 2,750 meters in the Northern Gulf of Mexico. Thousands of marine species eke out an existence in the ocean's pitch-black depths by feeding on the snowlike decaying matter that cascades… Continue

*Becoming A Gratitude Guru*

I was just reading one of Deepak Chopra’s Spiritual Laws of Success - The Law of Giving and Receiving. I have to say I’ve always been better at giving than receiving. As I’ve been on this spiritual journey, however, I’ve been finding out that in order to truly give, you must be able to receive as well. Another thing I have realized is I must also be able to give to myself in order to give to others in a huge way.

Here’s a couple of my own… Continue

*The Wisdom of Oprah*

As you become more clear about who you really are, you'll be better able to decide what is best for you - the first time around.

Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough.

Biology is the least of what makes someone a mother.

Books were my pass to personal freedom. I learned to read at age three, and soon…

*Good Vibrations*

The core lesson of the law of attraction is about feeling good. When I have good vibes, I generate a positive state of reality around me. The fundamental positive feelings are peace and joy. When I experience these feelings, all other things that my heart desires will be added to me. I need to remain focused here. Peace and joy is the answer, as is love and the absence of fear. I still stumble, make mistakes and lose my peace and joy.. The most… Continue
