This Is What I’ve Learned

January 2009

Life Lessons:

Twelve years ago this January, I had a husband who walked out on me. Many of you know this about me though many of you are completely surprised when I mention I was married at one time. Unknowingly to me today, despite all the trials and tribulations, I would not change anything for the world. What follows is a poem I wrote shortly after he left me. To this day I distinctly remember writing… Continue

Afraid of Opening Your Heart

It is not easy to have an open heart in a world that offers us a full plate of experiences. This life gives us much joy, love, and light, but it also shows us a fair amount of pain, sadness, and suffering. When our hearts are open, we take everything into ourselves, and we are deeply affected by what we see. We do not hold ourselves separate from the pain of others. In addition, our own personal disappointments may begin to take their toll. We may feel small, alone, and overwhelmed. Most of us… Continue

A prayer request for a friend

I was checking a friends blog today and this touched my heart.

I wanted to share her prayer request for the family, the mother-to-be and the baby.

I am keeping them in my prayers as well.

Wishing them much love and Light.

I've taken about four stabs at trying to write something here today. I want to contribute but don't want to waste anyone's time with a bunch of blather and nonsense. For the first time, I realize I've got nothing to say. That's an awakening. Love and mercy to all.

Global Oneness, Global Consciousness

We are all feeling the effects of the energy shift (a bit of an earth-friendly tsunami!) that has come with the election of President Barack Obama, our new American (and a global) Leader.

As I watch the new Pres in his first 100 days, I can feel my own head spinning as so much is going on, and on so many levels. As we go through this active shift together, let us remember that the need for grounding and breathing! is greater now than… Continue

"Awakening Begun" BY: D. Elizabeth Mensinger Age: 33 1/19/2009

The day before a bi-racial president gets sworn in; we look at this Martin Luther King Jr. day differently. We are looking at things like there is a change in our awakening. We have stepped one step closer to that awakening. We as a society are starting to look deeper. True, we still have a long way to go but we just took a major leap. That leap has started the pendulum moving in a positive direction. Tomorrow is a big historical day for us to remember for our entire lives. But, it is also a… Continue

Trying new things in 2009

Well I have been trying out a few new things so far this month.

I tried sushi out for the first time last week.

I liked the California roll with a little green mustard but man of man is it hot...hehehe.

I found putting a little soy sauce cuts the heat and I love adding picled ginger slices on my California roll..;)

Also my kids and I had fun making our own pizza at the house.

Came out fairly well we made some bowtie pasta to go with it.

I am also… Continue

Imagine a Woman

Imagine a woman who believes it is right and good she is a woman. A woman who honors her experience and tells her stories. Who refuses to carry the sins of others within her body and life.

Imagine a woman who believes she is good. A woman who trusts and respects herself. Who listens to her needs and desires, and meets them with tenderness and grace.

Imagine a woman who has acknowledged the past's influence on the present. A… Continue

A Simple Meditation

I have been blessed to have many wonderful teachers. Included in them was a man called don Miguel Ruiz. I met with him on several occasions, and completed an apprenticeship in his lineage with two very wonderful teachers. The ways of the Toltec Shaman have greatly influenced my path. The Shaman knows that we are all waking up from the dream of the planet, and that our feelings are our guideposts to recovering our dream of Integrity and… Continue

One small step

One small step each day....wow at this rate I'll be there in no time (where ever THERE is).

Yes Eric, it is hard to say no and I did become an emotional wreck because I always put myself forward to help - fear of what others might say if I didn't, fear of being thought a bad person if i didn't. At one stage I felt like i was a personal therapist to a few people. They emotionally drained me and physicaly I was a wreck because I was so tired trying to be all things to all people. I… Continue

All you are looking for has been waiting to be found, waiting for you to open your eyes wide, waiting for you to recognize the truth of yourself. I am telling you where you come from. You come from the totality of Me. You are Myself. I am telling you that you are all that is. You are everything you perceive. You are the story, the storyteller, and the one who listens with bated breath. There is nothing that is not you. The one you love is you. The one you dislike is you. Everything is you. All… Continue

Teeny, tiny step forward

Each day seems to bring new revelations about my self. I had the realisation why I don't get involved anymore. I don't join groups and I don't volunteer for anything. That way I can't let anyone down. I will help people out if they need and I can see they need help. In the past I went out of my way to help people, too much so, my family life suffered and so did my health. Now, Other than my family I don't like to have people rely on me. I have baggage from past lives that involves me feeling… Continue

Living Green: "Green" Paper

Looking for tree-free paper? Sugar cane may be the answer. Using waste products from cane farming, sugar cane paper is cleaner to make, recyclable, and biodegrades faster than paper made from wood pulp. Besides saving trees, this paper can also be used to replace Styrofoam and other petroleum-based products.

another step forward

People, events, words, inspiration - all these have been put in my path recently. After events got on top of me and I allowed the emotions to take over - I had a realisation. A wonderful friend in the US sent me an email, in replying it opened up a realisation about grief. I have taken another step forward in healing. My own awakening spirituality is moving forward, my impatience had stopped it, rather than just being quiet with myself and just 'being' I had tried to force things, to rush them,… Continue

Celebrating Successes, and What I am learning

I am learning that life is about balance. And that we live our spiritual principles on a daily basis whether we know it or not. We are co-creating every day. And things happen in life. We celebrate, we explore, we face challenges, we play, and we love. What makes our journey is how we live in balance with our Truth each and every day. One day at a time.

As a new year begins I ask myself: Am I experiencing more peace and wellness since this… Continue

To ascribe a name to God

Is to limit your awareness of God.

Be charitable to proselytizers, they are well-meaning foot solders in the battle against evil. Unfortunately, the collateral damage in this war is immense. Those who are on the path of awakening and enlightenment need not participate. Early on, the true seeker has discovered that the great work is self-realization and the preferred way to fight evil if we must, is with good.Do not judge the actions or beliefs of another… Continue

It should only be talked about if the talking will make you feel better. It is of no value, ever, to activate and talk about something that doesn’t feel good, because it reactivates it in your vibration; it makes it another point of your point of attraction—so you’re less clear.

In other words, when you focus upon the problems of others, you diminish your ability to help them. People believe that you’ve got to focus upon the problem in order to find a solution. And we say, no… Continue
