...no worries!! I had real belly chuckle at the idea of another one!! I'm back quick to check out the yoga vids...just watched the one where the lady stands on her head. A little advanced for someone who hasn't started yet, I'll be gathering skill before I try that one. Loved the Laughing Buddah. Life really does begin at 40 it took me that long to develop patience.

Thank you for your welcome. You have a very nice site packed with useful information. I have discovered a lot to read and explore. I'm not expecting again, thanks for the chuckle! I just had a baby boy 6 months ago and on maternity at home with him. As I never discovered my inner Goddess until I was 40, I am late experiencing family. The next addition to our family will be of the 4-legged variety!! that is once we find a place outside the city.
I am looking forward to being here and getting to know everyone.

Wow,
Your page is so bright! Just stopping over to say I'm off to an in-service, not sure if I will have computer access. And also re: your page that happened to me as well the other day, not this one but a darker one, I thought maybe I accidently did something when I was in profile. I tend to click quicker then I think! Glad to know it could be just a glitch with Ning.
Have a peaceful day,
~Sarah

California bound always seems like a good idea to me. I'm a California girl, been here mostly since 1966, left for a while in '73, moving back in '76. So glad to get back. Actually, its energy I observe because I feel that we bring our own economic consciousness with us. To me, the energy of California is what draws me here and keeps me here. Recently I considered moving to Utah with my daughter, but quickly re-determined that California is where I belong. If California is where you come, lift your head up to receive the light, embrace what works for you and rejoice in the celebration of a great energy. Hence, the Starshine view.

Alexa,
I had the most *horrid* experience today while trying to upload a new profile picture...it wouldn't upload a new one & was taking to long, I had to run and noticed on the bottom of the page it said 'leave ArW, I thought at the time it was an exit. When I tried to log on after my whole being was gone...! I deleted myself..what an awful feeling! I re-signed up, all my blogs were gone, but all the friends came back up..Whew! I even disappeared from the groups! Deletion is not pretty! Anyway-I'm back blogless & comment-less but I exist! I have come to enjoy this place so much it was like a physical blow when I realized I deleted me!
Hope you had a great weekend...
Talk to you soon,
~Sarah

About me
I am the proud founder of Awakened Recovery & Wellness. This site was inspired during my own healing journey.

Fun Facts about me:
I love teaching, being creative, film, dance, art, people and I have a passion for cleaning up the Earth and protecting wildlife and animals. Yes, I'm a proud tree-hugger and an empassioned animal lover&activist.

I am married to my wonderful soul-mate/partner and we have 2 beloved dogs. I'm a spiritual creative Leo who has worked primarily in social-issue inde film and video and simultaneously as a digital film instructor and mentor to at-risk teens. I also work naturally with energy and consciousness shifting, and have always been passionate about combining my creativity with a higher purpose.

I have enjoyed spiritual travel, adventure, exploring rain forests, and communing with wild dolphins. I have studied and apprenticed spiritually in depth including completing an apprenticeship in the lineage of don Miguel Ruiz, author of The Four Agreements. My greatest teacher, however, has been walking through my own deep inner healing process. I learned so much during my own life recovery work that I am now looking forward to the new chapter that is unfolding in my life. My intention is to be completely recovered from environmental health issues so I can fulfill those gifts and joys.

I am a bold and sensitive spirit with a passion for inspiring others as they heal and awaken. And I love to be inspired too! I love meeting like-minded spirits and sharing the journey.

I created AwakenedRecovery in the Fall of 2008 and am looking forward to its second co-creative year. Welcome Aboard!

Celebrating Wellness

Why I created a Wellness and Recovery Network:

I created Awakened Recovery & Wellness because I wanted to share the gifts of life recovery with others, and also because I found in my own healing process that there seemed to be a shortage of easilty-accessable spaces where warriors on the journey of self-transformation could meet, talk and explore together.

I wanted to create a safe, spiritually charged, exciting space where those walking the walk to self-transformation could meet, share, explore, play and expand together. And I wanted to create a spa-like spiritual atmoshphere in which to nourish our spirits, body mind and soul.

I also wanted to create a space where those who understand the healing journey could talk and share with others. We need to have spaces where we can talk and share safely with others - and to express our authentic selves - especially when we are healing.

We are human and we go through human experiences. We are not alone on this planet. We are here together to share and connect, to celebrate and assist each other and our world. We have feelings. And in order to attain Wholeness, we must learn to embrace our whole selves.

This is a space where you can let your hair down, be yourself, and discover the Truth of Who You Are. With others who are doing the same, and know that the journey is one to be celebrated.

Celebrate your journey to Awakening with us! We're glad you're here.

A Quote from H.H. the XIVth Dalai Lama

“Every day, think as you wake up, Today I am fortunate to have woken up, I am alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it, I am going to use all my energies to develop myself,
To expand my heart out to others,
To achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings,
I am going to have kind thoughts towards others,
I am not going to get angry,
or think badly about others
I am going to benefit others as much as I can”

Faith, by David Whyte

My favorite poem on Faith of all time. Meant to be read slowly, it is surely one to savor.

Faith

I want to write about faith,
about the way the moon rises
over cold snow, night after night

faithful even as it fades from fullness,
slowly becoming that last curving and impossible
sliver of light bef… Continue

Today's Meditation - Faith

Hello God

Hello God, I called tonight,
To talk a little while.
I need a friend who'll listen
To my anxiety and trial.

You see, I can't quite make it
Through a day just on my own,
I need your love to guide me,
So I'll never feel alone.

I want to ask you please to keep,
My family safe and sound… Continue

Obama meets Half-Brother

It was easy to see when Pres Obama came onto the scene that he was "hip" to recovery. His recovery lingo and policies were clearly evident and so obvious to me, I remember thinking "I need to write down all these phrases he is using b/c he is soooo recovery!" Now I am having a failure to recall his many quotes, but I will look up some of his earlier speeches to illustrate my point. Meantime, I see in this article both he and his half-brother also mention a bit about their own recovery from a dys… Continue
