...easier said that done. But here's a little help from Abe-Hicks to help us move through resistance. You CAN change it! One step at a time.

Please share your experiences with this!!... What are you working on? Or what has worked for you in the past? What do you think??

I wish I could laugh about my life all day every day.

I am working on addiction.
I have people tell me often “just get over it”
“Get some will-power”
“Get some self-respect”
“Just stop”

These are usually people who don’t have a clue on what its like to feel the utmost need for something even when you are haven’t had any for a long time.
Everyday, that yearning is still there and if I was to over indulge just once, it would throw me off beam for weeks or months, in some cases years.

All addictions are hard, mine is not so easy to stay away from, to handle, because it is something that we as human beings need to indulge in everyday.
No it is not alcohol, not gambling, not drugs – legal or illegal, it is not sex, it is food.
I have had people say that it is, my drug of choice.
But I don’t know about that, I am pretty sure that if I had a choice, I would have chosen to not be addicted to anything but oxygen.

And for some reason, the other addictions are more sociably acceptable.
More understood, more help is given, more allowances made, less judgements made.

go figure

Hi Firstlove, I know exactly what you mean... in fact, I second-guessed posting this video b/c of that comment at the end. I mean, I sometimes wonder with comments like "we laugh at you all day" if these people and beings have any wisdom at all and/or certainly any compassion at all- ?? I guess I told myself that that comment was for people without healing to do, just getting caught up in superficial things of the everyday. Of which, healing is not superficial.

There was a post from someone on another LOA forum today. They were asking about their sobriety. They told how 12-steps helped them to get sober initially, and now without the meetings, they were struggling again with the addiction and asking for opinions on the LOA in regards to 12-step recovery.

Someone acutally posted somethng that said Abe-Hicks "is not all that happy with 12 step meetings." And so a couple people said "don't go." and basically "just pretend you're happy." This really made me angry and step back and say... hmmm. pretty ignorant statement. Pretty stupid actually. (conversely, there were the more aware folks there also saying to the contrary). But the initial quote given from Abe-Hicks made me really angry. And I posted back. I think it is a terrible interpretation of the loa. ANd that's all it is, an interpretation.

Here is the interpretation I share of using awareness of the law of attraction in regards to recovering from addiction or anything else for that matter. Here's my response to the above ---

hi Hazel. I'm not too sure about that Abraham quote that Silver Girl posted...I mean, I guess that Abe was attending a 12 step meeting that was not uplifting or something.

Here's what I have experienced. If you say "I want support for my sobriety" and the Universe comes back with "here's a wonderful meeting with people who know how to heal this, b/c they have done it themselves," then that is the LOA at work!

If you are drowing, and the universe sends you a boat, don't miss the boat by saying "well, I have to just be happy and not be drowning...." I mean, you'd miss the boat, right?

Awareness of the LOA is meant to help and support us. To me, it brings LOVE. Love.

And I have been to alanon meetings. They were full of LOVE and wisdom, healing and people transforming their lives. Powerful stuff.

I read the history of how 12 steps were co-created. With divine guidance. love and wisdom. And I know they have brought miracles, literally, to thousands of peoples lives. Miracles! and great Spiritual Awakening.

There are literally many people on this planet who made all of their dreams come true...found the JOY of their TRUE selves, wholeness, abundance and great JOY. Because of the Angels who co-created with the Universe the incredible, and may I say, global, and for some, life-saving, life-transformative healing group. It's a (free, may I add - unlike some of the loa garbage some people, not all, but some are trying to peddle) network of totally Loving Angels!!

So if the Universe is pointing to some loving support for your healing, I say embrace it!!

THAT is how the LOA works!!

Big hugs and lots of love.

----------------------------------------

So I also do not agree with everything said in these Abe-Hicks pieces. But some of them do carry some very good practices. (and abe-hicks does not have the sole ownership of the loa...it's ageless and timeless, and people as far back as aristotle have been aware of it) It's just one interpretation.

In any case, I wish you many blessings with your own steps today. I have been struggling myself with smoking on and off, and I understand the complexity of the issue.

BIG HUGS.
