- I was diagnosed about 10 years ago in my home country (not this one) even though I'd been living here for 26+ years! When I was FINALLY diagnosed, it was only a partially correct diagnosis. So, it took more than 10 years to come closer to the more correct compounded diagnosis I have now. It was a relief and a felt like even a greater burden at the same time. I am receiving more appropriate treatment now, the current most recommended treatment for people suffering from Borderline Personality Disorder. I can't remember what it's called, right now. (The medication I take severely impacts my memory's ability to function!) Marsha Linehan created it, and I find it to be VERY useful!
