A healthy lifestyle includes a healthy belief system.
Living a healthful lifestyle includes ways of thinking that support feeling good in life on a daily basis. Healthy thinking is foundational to healthy living.
We are all familiar with Louise Hay, Law of Attraction, and many other teachings that incude healing our emotions and beliefs. Affirming that you already ARE whole and healthy can begin, or re-begin, to align your thinking today.

Sometimes we get off-course in spite of our awareness and the work we have already done. Many times when we are ill and our bodies hurt it is difficult to say and believe "I am healthy." Additionally, when we are actively healing emotionally and feel "broken" it is difficult to say "I am whole." That's ok too. We can begin by noticing "I am breathing" or "my body is still healing, that shows that it is healthy," and re-build our positive focus from there. "I'm facing my pain, that is healthy and courageous. I love me." If you need to re-begin every day for the next 100 days, that's ok, too. Begin again today from wherever you are! "Maybe I can change how I think and feel." "Maybe I am in that process right now!"

"Lifestyle Thinking" in Recovery includes:
Knowing we are doing our best and our best is good enough
Releasing perfection (recovery is about "progress not perfection")
Power of choice (We can choose to be gentle and loving with ourselves)
Taking 100% responsibility for our life and awakening (empower yourself! it really is up to you and only you)
Knowing it is safe and healthy to express our feelings (All of our feelings are natural and human. Some of us are re-learning that it is safe to express all of them in healthy ways.)
Being gentle and loving with ourselves (always, always, always! be kind to yourself)
and...
Celebrate often.
Celebrate Life! Celebrate baby steps in recovery! Celebrate YOU!

Today's recommended healthy practice
Begin the day with an affirming meditation. This is a good one that brings the Light into all areas of ourselves: body, mind, spirit and emotions.

Bridget, I always love it when I bump into you. I can relate. To the Christmas thing. Last year, we said "we're not gonna make any fuss at all." And we had the best, ie: most easy-going and relaxed time ever.
This year, I have a menu, things I want to try. Plus the people across the street are dealing with a father in Hospice care at home right now. So am going to make them a pumpkin cheesecake today. I have lots of new recipes I do want to try. And it is exhausting me already. Truly. Big hugs, my sister goddess friend.

Tips for Healthy Lifestyles

Try meditation for relaxation and stress reduction. Meditator Sharon Salzberg says you should start by sitting comfortably, with your back erect. It is fine to sit in a chair or on an arrangement of cushions on the floor. If necessary, you can lie down. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths, feeling the breath as it enters your nostrils and fills your chest and abdomen; then release it. Allow the breath to become natural, without forcing it or controlling it. Let your attention rest on one breath at a time.

If your mind wanders, don't be concerned. Notice whatever has captured your attention, then let go of the thought or feeling, and return to the awareness of the breath. In this way, meditation teaches gentleness and an ability to forgive our mistakes in life and to go on.

A journal is a private place to express your inner thoughts and feelings. Through the process of writing, you can come closer to understanding who you are and who you want to be in life. Your insights, your breakthroughs, your innermost secrets—record them all in an online journal or a private notebook. Discover yourself.

I don't know if it's the same, growing-wise, but in NewMexico (very dry climate) we grew purple sage by the bunches. It grew fairly quickly and large, gorgeous purple plants of it. But the green sage, don't know. Sounds lovely.
