A healthy lifestyle includes a healthy belief system.
Living a healthful lifestyle includes ways of thinking that support feeling good in life on a daily basis. Healthy thinking is foundational to healthy living.
We are all familiar with Louise Hay, Law of Attraction, and many other teachings that incude healing our emotions and beliefs. Affirming that you already ARE whole and healthy can begin, or re-begin, to align your thinking today.

Sometimes we get off-course in spite of our awareness and the work we have already done. Many times when we are ill and our bodies hurt it is difficult to say and believe "I am healthy." Additionally, when we are actively healing emotionally and feel "broken" it is difficult to say "I am whole." That's ok too. We can begin by noticing "I am breathing" or "my body is still healing, that shows that it is healthy," and re-build our positive focus from there. "I'm facing my pain, that is healthy and courageous. I love me." If you need to re-begin every day for the next 100 days, that's ok, too. Begin again today from wherever you are! "Maybe I can change how I think and feel." "Maybe I am in that process right now!"

"Lifestyle Thinking" in Recovery includes:
Knowing we are doing our best and our best is good enough
Releasing perfection (recovery is about "progress not perfection")
Power of choice (We can choose to be gentle and loving with ourselves)
Taking 100% responsibility for our life and awakening (empower yourself! it really is up to you and only you)
Knowing it is safe and healthy to express our feelings (All of our feelings are natural and human. Some of us are re-learning that it is safe to express all of them in healthy ways.)
Being gentle and loving with ourselves (always, always, always! be kind to yourself)
and...
Celebrate often.
Celebrate Life! Celebrate baby steps in recovery! Celebrate YOU!

Today's recommended healthy practice
Begin the day with an affirming meditation. This is a good one that brings the Light into all areas of ourselves: body, mind, spirit and emotions.

"As you imagine and visualize and verbalize your new story, in time you will believe the new story, and when that happens, the evidence will flow swiftly into your experience. A belief is only a thought you continue to think; and when your beliefs match your desires, then your desires must become your reality.

There is no physical body, no matter what the conditions, that cannot achieve an improved condition. Nothing else in your experience responds as quickly as your own physical body to your patterns of thought........

The Law of Attraction is responding to your thought, not to your current reality. When you change the thought, your reality must follow suit. If things are going well for you, then focusing upon what is happening now will cause the well-being to continue, but if there are things happening now that are not pleasing, you must find a way of taking your attention away from those unwanted things.

You have the ability to quickly change your patterns of thought, and eventually… your life experience."

how to boost healthy immune system responses ... by debbie mandel

Alkalinizing foods are anti-inflammatory. Fruits and vegetables contain powerful anti-oxidants to boost the immune system to prevent chronic inflammation. To shift the diet in the direction of alkalinity, switch to:
* Fish, chicken, veal and lamb
* Fruits and vegetables – nine servings a day (a serving is the size of a fist)
* Whole grains like: Brown rice, quinoa, millet, spelt and kamut
* Raw nuts like almonds and walnuts
* Green tea
* Cold pressed olive oil
* Drink plenty of water to flush out toxins and aid cellular metabolism

Practicing a relaxed mindset which releases anger and resentment, striving to be at peace with others and with the self, is a necessary accompaniment to an anti-inflammatory diet. Our daily expressions hold clues to the harmful role of inflammatory remarks: fiery temper, consumed with anger or rage, burnout, etc. And it is the fire in our words and actions that fuels the inflammatory response, a virtual civil war we wage in the body and mind, releasing powerful hormones, acid in our stomachs and pain to alert us to the problem. The solution is to make peace with ourselves, change our diet and implement an exercise regimen – in other words, to create a balance that will heal both mind and body.

And make sure to:
* Get your rest. Sleep repairs cellular damage and keeps you balanced mentally and physically. When you are tired and weak, you are vulnerable to infections.
* If you are waiting for New Year’s Day to resolve to exercise, don’t wait; there is no better time than the present. Regular exercise kicks up the immune system.
* Cut down on sugars and stimulants. Sugar knocks out the immune system for several hours and causes your insulin levels to go out of balance,
* Air out your home daily. An energy efficient sealed house breeds mold which undermines your immune system.
* Maintain some green houseplants to purify the air for example, Philodendrons, Spider plants, Peace Lily, Gerber daisy and Pothos.
* Wash your hands thoroughly. Don’t rub your eyes after you have shaken hands or touched germ-laden surfaces. A finger to the eye is a direct route of infectious inoculation.

To your health!

and one more....

~ Do whatever it takes to stay connected to God/Goddess/Truth. Don't stop the practices, the prayers, the rituals, the meditations, the readings, the writings (blog on!), the "whatever works" for you to stay in touch with All That Is.

You are loved. You are guided. You are blessed.

And so it is.
