Tips for Newbies
A great way to get to know the site after taking a look around is to welcome the next "new" person. We all remember how nice it felt to be welcomed, and we like to pay it forward. It's also a great way to meet everyone! Or drop a comment on someone else's page or post anytime. And when you feel ready, join in and offer discussion topics in our public forum. It's a warm and friendly group of folks, and all topics are welcome. And as always, feel free to create and blog. We have many readers here. And we love to keep it flowing and growing. If you are new to blogging, a great way to get your feet wet is to share tid bits and things you come across on the web, or jot a little note about how and what you are up to today. We love to share personal updates and have plenty of room for the personal touch and connection. In the groups, feel free to add new videos, quotes or comments you come across. Share things to keep our healing spaces flowing for the next person, just as you may have enjoyed or been uplifted by what others have left for us in those spaces.
Enjoy the site. We're glad you're here!

A note from the founder: I created Awakened Recovery because I wanted to share the gifts of life recovery with others, and also because I found in my own healing process that there seemed to be a shortage of spaces where people can get together with other warriors who understand the journey. And recovery and the spiritual path is definitely warrior's work.
I hated the stigma and identification that people can put on someone who is facing life's challenges openly, when the Truth as I could see it was that a spiritual being was doing some very big, sometimes very great, work. I wanted to create a safe, spiritually charged and exciting space where those walking the walk to self transformation can talk, play, support, heal and expand together.
People need to be able to talk. Talk about their journey. Talk about their experiences. Particularly when they are healing, and definitely on an authentic spiritual path. Sometimes we need to be able to say "this is Hard" or "I am hurting" and still be embraced. Likewise, we need to be able to say "you know what? I feel really good!" We need to embrace ourselves enough to express our Truth, which in any given moment is how we feel. This is how we heal.
We are not separate from our feelings. Our feelings are our Guideposts to recovering the Truth of our Being. When we honor our feelings, we honor ourselves. We become authentic. And we know ourselves.

We are both human and Divine. The middle road is where we find our truth. And ultimately, reach our Enlightenment. We cannot reach enlightenment if we deny our humanity. Our humanity is our guide.
There are no limits to the expansion we experience as we journey authentically through life.
Celebrate your journey to Awakening with us!
