My embroidery designs being accepted by two magazines for publishing.

My creativity is back bigtime

My youngest son has a girlfriend

the ability to laugh with friends

The joy I get from being with my friends

waking up this morning to a blue sky

actually waking up this morning

Losing two hours in the craft room working on a new design - I was totally oblivious to the world around me, what a great feeling.

Subject RAMBLINGS OF A RETIRED MIND

Ramblings of a Retired Mind

I was thinking about how a status symbol of today is those cell phones that everyone has clipped onto their belt or purse. I can't afford one. So, I'm wearing my garage door opener. I also made a cover for my hearing aid and now I have what they call blue teeth, I think.

You know, I spent a fortune on deodorant before I realized that people didn't like me anyway.

I was thinking that women should put pictures of missing husbands on beer cans!

I was thinking about old age and decided that old age is 'when you still have something on the ball, but you are just too tired to bounce it'

I thought about making a fitness movie for folks my age, and call it 'Pumping Rust'.

I've gotten that dreaded furniture disease. That's when your chest is falling into your drawers!

When people see a cat's litter box, they always say, 'Oh, have you got a cat?' Just once I want to say, 'No, it's for company!'

Employment application blanks always ask who is to be notified in case of an emergency. I think you should write, 'A Good Doctor'!

I was thinking about how people seem to read the Bible a whole lot more as they get older. Then, it dawned on me, they were cramming for their finals.

As for me, I'm just hoping God grades on the curve.

Enjoy Your Days & Love Your Life,
Because Life is a journey to be savored.

Just had to reply to your post Sarah because it made me laugh out loud. On the occasion you were drunk, stoned and plain not thinking I was with you. I was in exactly the same place (drunk, stoned and plain not thinking) and I also chose my biological family too! :-) Fortunately we woke up in time in this life-time and realised we don't have to plug into the chaos but to be grateful for the lessons we have learned and celebrate the choices we have.

Today I celebrate the fact that I have completed the second part of my Transcendental meditation course and was able to drive there and back and get home safely. This stuff is a million miles away from my biological family but we live in a dualistic world with both shadow and light. I give thanks I can connect with others who also didn't grow up on little house on the prairie :-)

Namaste.

Well said, Maria. Well said. and your class and the driving sound wonderful btw. And Sarah, well done and thanks for the smile. lol.

OK. Today I am celebrating being able to sleep on my stomach again. For a stomach sleeper who couldn't turn over for a very long time due to stabbing pains in my abdomen, left over residues from getting off a "safe little muscle relaxer" (yeah right) several years ago, this feels so good for me. And I am definitely celebrating.

And I'm also celebrating a fantastic day at "the beach" yesterday. We have a beach at a resevoir here in CO that is so fab, and we spent a wonderful afternoon with the dogs. It was a gorgeous day, 80degrees(F), wonderful breeze, sailboats, walking barefoot in the sand... ahhhh. Heaven on earth. Celebrating a day of heaven on earth.

Hey Alexa,

Sounds like payback for the night before. :) What I have to celebrate is a link a FB friend posted this morning. I visited and was deeply moved. I posted this to my page and then figured no one would see it, so right here seems good to me. BTW, this site is growing on me daily. This 5 minute slide show is now part of my daily morning practice. Please let me know how you like it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cK9rcwItmbQ
